in this post we will be sharing our experiences and input on our latest acquisition to our camera arsenal, the Fujifilm Finepix X30. This will be mostly an image based review, and will not delve into the technical aspects of the camera as such, purely because this is a photographer's review (not as a gear head! Lol)
With our short time, we are in love, the X30 produces the most amazing and accurate colors we have experienced in a camera (Thank you fuji) On the other hand, we are quite amazed by the spectacular performance of the overall combination, with a 28-112mm f/2~2.8 lens (35mm equivalent) it can handle anything from street photography to weddings and reportage given you're willing to sacrifice the extended image quality other cameras offer, however if you are after something small, quick and has great color, look no further than the X30!
so we'll start by showing the tonal, color and lens performance, the camera is capable of producing the most amazing and accurate colors, it's tonal range is beyond what you would expect in a camera of it's class, it can even outperform any of the Olympus pen and Sony E mount mirrorless cameras, but we digress
Tones are smoothly and organically reproduced as if it were photographed on film, it handles most light very well aswell subduing flare and toning down those crazy highlights

X30, 28mm, f/2, Pro Negative Hi
lowlight performance is quite amazing for a 2/3" sensor, but we have to thank the X-trans 6x6 array which magically reproduces the grain of film on such an organic level, you will never be able to tell the difference between a color negative and the X30

X30, 28mm, f/2, Pro Negative Hi, 2300K with green tonal adjustment
X30, 28mm, f/2, Pro Negative Hi, 2300K with green tonal adjustment
in conclusion, we are very impressed with the results, even more so when considering the sensor size (fuji please make a full frame camera now!), we highly recommend this camera to those starting out in digital photography, or those whom of which want a small and light camera that packs alot of punch, we will be updating this review in the weeks to come as there are certain assignments of which would be able to show another area of expertise that the X30 has, until then stay tuned!
If you want to change your photographs, you need to change cameras. Changing cameras means that your photographs will change. A really good camera has something I suppose you might describe as its own distinctive aura.
